Exciting news. Monday is the filing deadline for all corporate tax returns. There are no more extensions. Have you completed yours? Monday is also the due date for all personal and corporate estimated tax payments.

Aside from having me on, talking about Monday’s filing deadline for corporate returns – he interviewed Jordon Goodman, author of Fast Profits In Hard Times. What caught my attention is something new Jordon brought up that might be available from some major home mortgage lenders. (I have to go back and listen to the recording of the show to get this right, but…) He said that you can pay off your mortgage substantially faster by opening a bank account with the bank that holds your mortgage. The lender credits your mortgage with the earnings on the daily balance (float) in your bank account and applies it to the principal of your loan. I’m not sure how it works, or which banks offer this option. But you can replay this morning’s interview and find out.

Incidentally, if you feel you’re having trouble paying your taxes, consider reading Donald Jay Korn’s new murder mystery, Payable on Death. It’s about an investment advisor who just gets in over his head, trying to keep clients out of trouble. (Look for a more detailed review of the book at Amazon next week.) I must tell you though, when I got the book, I read it in about a day. Couldn’t put it down.
